This project was unveiled in December 2012 at Oberoi International School in Mumbai, India.
This mosaic mural was created by and for the school community under my guidance. Artist participants ranged from junior and high school students to school parents and staff of OIS. It was a great challenge to finish this mosaic in the allotted time frame, while maintaining quality and levels of detail that were outstanding considering the young age of most of the work force.
The project received a considerable amount of attention in the Indian press. It proved once again that when implemented properly, mosaic can be a powerful teaching tool as well as a unifying force and a fantastic way to beautify the space through community effort.
On this page you will find images of students and others working on the mosaic, progress pics, and images of the final piece. Also, be sure to watch the timelapse video and check out the press surrounding the project. Enjoy!
